Bitcoin ATM Market Dynamics November 2018

In the first part of November, the Bitcoin price was fairly steady, starting with $6,342 and maintaining a steady course until 13th when it started to fall. It continued to fall hitting the $3,752, which was the lowest value in November this year. The month ended with a price tag of $4,107 which is a 35.2% decrease in comparison to the beginning of the month.

Unlike the price downward trajectory, the number of new machines continues to grow at an approximately same rate as in October.

The top of the list continues to be the same, with General Bytes having the most installations with 70 (6.1% increase) and Genesis Coin on the second place with 36 new machines (2.9% increase). Third place goes to Lamassu with 12 new installations (2.8% increase).

We are also glad to say that Russian based manufacturer Criptomat installed their first machine in Ukraine.

In November, Bitcoin of America was the Operator that had the most installations with 16 new locations  (23.5% increase). CoinFlip Bitcoin ATMs followed by with 10 new machines (9.5% increase). These two were the only Operators that increased their numbers by more than 10 machines in November. Localcoin, Athena Bitcoin and BTM Service GMBH shared the third place with 7 new installations each.

As usual, United States were the dominant Country with 70 new machines (3.2% increase). This month there was a change in the second place where Austria with 17 new machines (6.9% increase) took it from Canada who had 16 new installations (2.7% increase).

We are proud to point that this month three Countries had their first installations:

  • Peru – Buy only machine manufactured by General Bytes located in Lima.
  • Albania – Buy only machine manufactured by General Bytes located in Tirana.
  • South Korea – Buy and Sell machine manufactured by DOBI ATM located in Seoul.

This November the number of Altcoins accepted at ATM’s got to 59%. Again, Ether was the coin accepted in the greatest number of ATM’s. It was added into 139 machines (7.97% increase). Bitcoin came second with 115 additions (2.93% increase), followed by Litecoin who was added into 105 new machines (4.57% increase).

Summary

In November the prices experienced a heavy fall at the end of the month. Manufacturers General Bytes and Genesis Coin installed the most machines. Peru, Albania and South Korea installed their first machines. Ether was the most added coin.

  1. Very good data and analysis. Interestingly all BTM operators only increased the number of machines. The trend shows BTM is profitable.
