Bitcoin ATM Market Dynamics September 2020

September started with a Bitcoin price at $11,660 and immediately dropped to $10,188 on the 4th. For the rest of the month, the price remained within the 10k range until it reached the $10,841 at the end of the month which is a 7% decrease when compared to the price at the beginning of the month.

The speed of bitcoin ATM installations increased compared to previous months (almost 10% vs. normally 5-6%).

Genesis Coin remains to be the most actively installed manufacturer with 328 new machines (9.7% increase) in September. General Bytes continues to follow by with 296 new installations (10.4% increase). BitAccess was the third most active manufacturer with 145 new machines (15.8% increase).

On the operators list, CoinFlip Bitcoin ATMs remain the most active with 178 (21.1% increase). CoinCloud followed by, with 132 new installations (15.1% increase), while Bitcoin Depot dropped one spot compared to the previous month adding 116 new machines (13.4% increase). This is the first time when operators reached 1000 machines – Coinflip and Coincloud. Bitcoin Depot will reach this milestone shortly as well.

North American domination continued in September. The United States increased the number of machines by 844 (11.6%), while Canada added 38 new machines (4.8% increase). Switzerland was the most active country outside North America, with 22 new installations (27.5% increase).

Malaysia sadly removed the only Bitcoin ATM in September.

The percentage of Bitcoin ATM’s supporting any other cryptocurrencies than Bitcoin remained the same at 68.9%. Litecoin was the second most added coin in September with 662 additions (10.39% increase) followed by Ether with 594 additions (10.54% increase) and Bitcoin Cash with 350 additions (11.13% increase).

Summary

The price of Bitcoin in September experienced a small decrease. Genesis Coin and General Bytes continued to be the most active on the manufacturers list. The United States added the most machines. Litecoin was again the most adopted coin besides Bitcoin in September.
