About: Coinme was the first US-licensed bitcoin ATM company in 2014 and has since partnered with Coinstar, who operates over 20,000 coin collection machines which are now enabled for bitcoin purchases. The service is live in over 4,400 locations and 33 states, allowing users to buy bitcoin in a safe and secure manner from the comfort of their local grocery store.
Purchases are possible with banknotes (paper USD) only, not coins.
Buying bitcoin is a simple four-step process:
- Select "Buy Bitcoin" at the Coinstar kiosk, agree to the terms and conditions, and provide your phone number.
- Insert US dollars (maximum amount per day is $2,500)
- The kiosk will print out a voucher with a redemption code
- Go to coinme.com, create a free account, and redeem your voucher code.
KYC rules apply, you will need to provide a valid form of ID on account signup.
